The ADK Fall Bucket List 2022

September 22, 2022

Reading Time: 3 minutes

“Autumn leaves don’t fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on this, their only chance to soar.”

– Delia Owens, Where the Crawdads Sing

To celebrate the official kickoff of autumn, I’m excited to share the third edition of my ADK Seasonal Bucket List, something I love creating so you can add a few fun to-dos to your list. One of my goals for 2022 is to add more fun to my routine. While it may feel a little backwards to actually “schedule” the fun, it’s a sure way for me to prioritize making memories with my family throughout the season! This fall bucket list is a great way to get started!

One of the most important episodes I’ve recorded so far is Episode 122 – Why Your Time Management Isn’t Working It’s definitely worth a listen if you haven’t already – I take the time to outline the foundation on which I’ve built my entire business: Living with HEART. Living with heart, at its core – is living a life of purpose. You’ve probably heard me say before that time management is heart management – because you can’t even begin to purposefully plan your days and weeks without knowing what’s truly important.

H. E. A. R. T.

  • H for habits.
  • E for energy
  • A for attention
  • R for recharge
  • And T for time.

So – what’s that got to do with summer? That’s where the fourth letter – R for recharge – comes in. In Episode 60, I do a deep dive on just how important it is to recharge through rest, relationships and recreation. It seems the “R” is always shoved to the bottom of our to-do list, and it couldn’t be more important.

Here we go again, helping each other prioritize Recharge activities for the benefit of ourselves and those around us!

Here’s my Autumn Bucket List for 2022

Visit a pumpkin patch!

A fall bucket list is hardly complete without at least ONE pumpkin. Sure, you could pick up your pumpkins from a grocery store, but nothing beats an outing to a pumpkin patch. I can’t wait to find a local patch in our new hometown so we can start a new tradition of taking the girls to pick out their own pumpkin.

Decorate your mantel or front porch.

Even when the weather isn’t feeling very “fall-y,” you can still pretend the leaves have changed and the temps have dropped by giving your mantel or your porch a little autumn love. I’ve already checked this one off my list by adding two large decorative wooden pumpkins to our porch and adding some fall decor above our fireplace.

Bake pumpkin bread.

My annual cake baking extravaganza usually takes place around Christmas or New Years, but this year I want to add some pumpkin baked goods to my repertoire. Although I don’t think anything will ever top the pumpkin rolls my college roommate Alex made in our apartment our senior year. Seriously, those pumpkin rolls are the stuff pumpkin dreams are made of.

Go on a hay ride.

I might need to take some allergy medicine before hitting the hay bales, but something about a hay ride makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood. While I can’t exactly remember why or when, I have vague memories of piling in the back of a trailer, grabbing a spot and heading to roast weenies or marshmallows with friends.

Plan a screening of your favorite fall movie.

You’ve Got Mail feels like the official movie to kick off back to school season. Newly sharped bouquet of pencils, anyone? Something about fall also makes me want to rewatch the entire Harry Potter series start to finish.

Get ready to fall into autumn!

This list is just a sampling of a few activities I’m personally excited to add to my calendar, but there are so many more ideas for engaging with the season. Comment below with your favorite way to incorporate Recharge onto your fall calendar – and don’t forget to do just that: add it to your calendar! The most foolproof way to make sure your intentions turn into actions.
